Over 6 years after it closed its doors for a 3 month refurbishment and never reopened, the Sensol Hotel on Camposol’s C Sector has a new owner.

The Hotel was previously owned by Manoli Hotels (Sensol) SL, part of the Grupo MASA conglomerate until it was placed into the hands of the official receiver in 2014. In 2016 and 2017 it was offered in 2 sealed bid auctions with reserves of 5.5 million euros and latterly an undisclosed amount to be decided by the Creditors once any bids were received, both auctions failed to find a buyer.

In the latest auction the hotel was offered in a 20 day online auction with no reserve ending on 23rd April and third time lucky a successful bid was received. The bid of 3.8 million, which will rise to over 5 million after commissions, taxes and other charges are added was confirmed and concluded by a medium sized Hotel Chain based in Ibiza which operate at least one 5 star hotel.

The fixtures, fittings and catering equipment in the main Hotel were sold as a separate lot at auction in tandem with the first auction in 2016, some of the separate buildings containing self-catering accommodation or suites were never completed and the spa had deteriorated badly, so there will be a considerable investment required if the Hotel is to function as originally envisioned. At the moment the buyer has not revealed his vision of the future masterplan and according to some sources is open to suggestions.

So we are no nearer knowing what lies in store for the Hotel Complex but at least we know commercial businesses find Camposol worth significant investment.
