The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, is committed to continuing to make progress in the sanitary improvements that the municipality needs to achieve quality tourism
The (Regional) Ministry of Health has begun work on the preparation of Mazarrón Health Centre for the installation of the new X-ray machine. These tasks prior to the installation of the new device will be undertaken in the coming days and are on the right track after the ongoing conversations that the Town Council has held in recent weeks with the aforementioned Ministry and, especially, with the Management of Health Area II – Cartagena that has maintained a fluid communication with the Department of Health on this matter, despite the health crisis situation that is being suffered by Covid-19.
The new X-ray machine is a demand that from the beginning of this legislature the Government Team requested from the Health Minister, Manuel Villegas, in repeated demands expressed by the Town Council on behalf of the citizens of the municipality so that this situation could be solved. soon as possible. With these initial works, the first step is taken in achieving this objective.
The last meeting with the Minister was attended by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, Councillor, Ginés Campillo, and the Councillor for Health, Francisco José García, who were informed that the process of awarding the new ray machine continued with its procedure to install the radiology service in the health centre and thus avoid that the citizens of the municipality travelling to Cartagena to obtain a treatment of this type.
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, has been “satisfied that these preliminary works have begun” and has opted for “continuing to exhaustively request the healthcare improvements that a tourist municipality like Mazarrón and its citizens deserve.” Well, for the Mayor, as he commented in the Municipal Plenary in April, “quality tourism, and more in the coming months in the face of the situation we are experiencing due to the coronavirus, involves having health services and infrastructures of quality and this is one of the aspects in which we must focus and work together and by consensus among all administrations”.
