The forest fire brigades join in the disinfection tasks in the municipality
The reinforcement has allowed the Council to intensify these works in the neighbourhoods
The Forest Fire Defence Unit (UDIF) of the Regional Government of the Region of Murcia has today joined in the disinfection and fumigation work that since last March 12 the Mazarrón City Council has been carried out in the municipal area.
The Councillors for the Environment, Plácida Gómez; Services, Tomás Ureña; and Civil Protection, Francisco José García, have coordinated the work together with the aforementioned unit and the operators of the municipal company Bahía de Mazarrón and the Actúa and Orthem contractors.
This reinforcement in these tasks has allowed the Council to intensify disinfection in neighbourhoods in which the residents had been requesting from the Town Council a greater intensity of the work, such as those carried out in medical centres and sensitive points.
But, as the Councillor for Services, Tomás Ureña, wanted to clarify, “municipal sweepers routinely perform disinfection, both now and forever, so all the streets of Mazarrón and Puerto have been treated from the first emergency state, as well as the districts”.
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, thanked “the involvement of all those workers and operators who from the first day are working hard to tackle the epidemic and who must be thanked for this effort. An effort that we have to complement by following the confinement rules and not let our guard down at this time, even though we observe that the situation is improving”.
