Supermarkets may open on Sundays and public holidays in Mazarrón

Another measure is to be able to restore the usual opening hours

Supermarkets and food shops may reopen to the public this Sunday to facilitate the supply of basic products for citizens, according to the order published yesterday afternoon in the supplement to the Official Announcement of the Region of Murcia by the Ministry of Business, Industry and Spokesperson.

In this way, from Sunday supermarkets and food stores of less than 300 metres throughout the region will be able to reopen on Sundays and public holidays and in the case of the municipality of Mazarrón, also the large supermarkets of more than 300 metres, being able to close at their usual times.

The change as indicated in the order is due to the demand of the businesses in the sector and due to the evolution of the pandemic by COVID-19 in the Region of Murcia, evaluating the convenience of guaranteeing the commercial activity for users in conditions of maximum security, and also leaving without effect the recommendation to close at 19 hours.

In this way, from Sunday, supermarkets and food stores of less than 300 metres throughout the region can reopen on Sundays and public holidays, and in the case of the municipality of Mazarrón, also large supermarkets of more than 300 metres, being able to close at their usual times.
