Mazarrón is the municipality with the highest rate of infections in the Region of Murcia and “the situation is critical,” explained Mayor Gaspar Miras.

In a meeting this morning with the Minister of Health, Juan José Pedreño, the mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, has requested a curfew for the municipality from 2 to 6 in the morning due to the “critical situation” of infections.

In addition, the Mazarrón City Council has asked the council for more personnel in health centers to improve the traceability of positives and that priority be given to the municipality in the new vaccination strip so that the proliferation of cases ceases.

Mazarrón is the municipality with the highest rate of infections in the Region of Murcia and “the situation is very worrying.” According to Miras, 98% of the infections are between 15 and 30 years of age “with some hospitalizations in the ICU.”

In addition, the consistory has vindicated Health for some sanitary deficiencies in the town such as the 24-hour emergencies at the Puerto Health Center and the Mental Health service from September, as well as its commitment to the Red Cross continuing in 2022.

Mazarrón has added this Tuesday 13 positives more than the 356 new cases registered in the Region of Murcia.

There are already 155 people currently affected in Mazarrón of the 1,828 in the Region.
Of the 356 new cases in the Region, 114 correspond to the municipality of Murcia, 62 to Cartagena, 25 to Molina de Segura, 18 to Torre Pacheco, 13 to Mazarrón, 12 to San Javier, 10 to Alhama de Murcia, 9 to La Unión, 8 to Lorca, 7 to Yecla, 6 to Lorquí, 5 to Águilas, 5 to Jumilla, 5 to Librilla, 5 to San Pedro del Pinatar, 4 to Alcantarilla, 4 to Archena, 4 to Las Torres de Cotillas, 4 to Totana, 3 to Cehegín, 3 to Santomera. The rest are distributed by the other municipalities
