Translation of the Letter from the Mayor of Mazarrón Gaspar Miras to the Personnel of the Consum Supermarket
First of all I hope that you and your families are keeping well during this period, so dangerous to our health.
For weeks now, we have been in this dramatic and unusual situation, a crisis without precedents, which transformed our lives and the lives of our families.
The last few weeks have highlighted how important the commitment of many workers is to us all – you have always been essential, now you are vital to our needs.
When this pandemic fell upon us, we had to re-organize our whole society very rapidly. In order to do this, we had to decide which sectors were essential for our survival, just like in a war situation – and you were one of them. The provision of food must be guaranteed, therefore your establishment was one of the few that were allowed to remain open to the public.
Of fundamental importance during this crisis, have been the supermarket personnel and staff. YOU have been in the front line, in spite of fear, in spite of the danger to yourselves and your families.
Because of this, as Mayor of Mazarrón, I wish to convey my sincere thanks to the cashiers, the employees, the shelf-fillers, the cleaning and maintenance staff, the suppliers, logistics and transport workers, and to all the personnel involved in the functioning of your establishment.
THANK YOU for applying the essential measures of prevention and hygiene in order to ensure the safety of this supermarket.
THANK YOU for your exemplary work and your dedication, THANK YOU for taking care of the health of the residents of Camposol.
